The fans have spoken and the numbers don’t lie. There was a lot of backlash when Disney bought Lucasfilm and hastily proceeded development of a sequel trilogy. Fans were incensed by the 2017 The Last Jedi release and the the box office results for Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker are telling.

Excel Charting Technique Tips

Using a Bar Chart to preserve movie titles

To create the above chart, I have considered the movie titles are long and the best chart type to use would be a bar chart because the movie titles will be presented in a natural reading order.

Making rounded corner bars by using very thick borders

Usually the bars in a bar chart are always in rectangles. To create the rounded corner look, I used very thick borders and set the corners to be rounded.

Colouring the bar chart using Star Wars “red vs blue” theme

The borders for the bars are coloured using gradient colour at 0 degree angle ranging from pink to blue.
